Humanaut pulls out a special one for October's party: Shakolin, one of the anchor residents at Kyiv, Ukraine's infamous Closer club. Over the years, Closer has been ground zero for Kyiv's well-regarded underground dance scene, with impeccable bookings and inclusive atmosphere. While usual operations have been disrupted due to Russia's egregious invasion of Ukraine, the Closer crew has since focused its efforts on volunteer work wherever it's needed. We all look forward to the day when the club and its community can return to full form, providing a vital outlet to Kyiv's artists.
As for Shakolin, you can expect precision tech house and techno, heavy on funk and psychedelic tones. It's a sound that will be right at home at Hot Mass, working the system just the way it demands.

In support of the people of Ukraine, we will be donating 25% of the profit from this night to Kyiv Angels (@kyivangels on Instagram), a group doing essential work, both on the front line and throughout Ukraine in general. If you are interested in going to Club Pittsburgh and Hot Mass, we recommend the following:
- Buy an advance ticket to Hot Mass.
- Check-in at our Hot Mass door first and get your wristband for the night.
- Take the elevator to the 4th floor, show your wristband, and get $5 off your Club Pittsburgh locker or room fee.
Alternatively, please feel free to check-in at Club Pittsburgh earlier in the night and come down to Hot Mass. As long as there is capacity, all Club Pittsburgh patrons will receive free entrance to Hot Mass, but we recommend coming down earlier in the night to get your wristband to prevent any capacity issues. If Hot Mass is at capacity, any Club Pittsburgh patrons who have not purchased a Hot Mass wristband will not be able to access Hot Mass.
We know this is a change from pre-pandemic times, and we hope you understand that both entities need your support to keep things running, manage space, and survive coming out of this thing.
